The Science of Law of Attraction Part 3: 2 Cups
The Two Cup Manifestation Technique and why it can work
As I mentioned in Part 1 and Part 2, I don’t believe in “the science” and I don’t have all the answers. These are my thoughts on what could be the scientific cause of a manifestation based on my own experience.
Two-Cup Manifestation Technique
For those who don’t know what this is, I will explain the process.
Think of something currently in your life that you would like to change.
Take a glass of water and fill it with water.
Place a label on the glass of water that has the current state (that you desire to change). Examples: poor, depressed, unlucky, etc.
Get another glass and place a label on it with your desired state (likely to be the opposite of the other one).
Pour the water from the “unwanted” state to the “wanted” state and then drink the “wanted” water.
Some people who feel like their unwanted state is really bad and tainting the “wanted” glass may fill both glasses with water, drink the “wanted” and pour the “unwanted” down the drain.
Quantum Leaping Into New Lives?
A lot of people who use this technique literally believe they’re being shifted into other dimensions via quantum leaping. They believe there are infinite parallel realities and they can simply leap into another one of their parallel self’s life. I love the TV series Quantum Leap from the early 90’s but I don’t personally subscribe to the belief that we would leap into another life, mostly because of the question, “Where would that other person go?” I don’t see it as fair and I do believe the universe is built on ultimate fairness. I don’t know what all their explanations might be for that question. I believe they may have answers, but it’s not something I’ve gotten into deep study into.
I also see the idea of “leaping” out of your own life into another dimensional life as an act of someone who sees this reality as “bad.” It has a bit of an escapism tint to the belief.
I realize someone could say that of anyone who wants to change their reality (better themselves and their life). For example, if you want to exercise it might be because you want to escape the reality in which you are unhealthy. I think bettering your life is not trying to escape it. But someone could make that argument.
I think the difference is if you want to stay or go. Skipping out of the dimension versus staying in this dimension to work on oneself is the differentiator for me. If you want to flee this reality, that’s an escape. I think we should focus on improving the reality in which we live.
I’m not sure how much the “quantum jumping” people ponder or question their beliefs. I think because they see a shift in their reality, they simply use that shift as “evidence” that their whole belief is correct rather than simply saying, “The technique works but it might not work why I think it did.”
Below I’ll explain my experience.
